Hola Familia y Amigos,
Well this week was really special and awesome getting to pass my first birthday here in the mission field. We ate A TON. I felt like I was going to die before I went to bed…
Every monday, wednesday, and Friday we play soccer at 6 in the morning, so that's how we started off my birthday,
then our pension made french toast which was my request, and it was so good!
We went to Huachac for our first lunch and ate Pollo Dorado with french fries which was also super good..
We then went to another family for our second lunch and ate more chicken with potatoes, and also the first cake of the day.
They only smashed my face in the cake a little bit..
At night we had a "noche hogar" Family Home Evening, just like every other Friday in Huachac, and they bought another cake.
This time they smashed my face into it big time.. So much that I fell down,
...and then they smashed 5 eggs on my head so I was super dirty..
I washed off...
...and then they smashed 3 more eggs on my head so I had to wash off again and it was freezing cold water..
So my birthday was a ton of fun and we had a great time! Even though I wasn't lighting fireworks and with my family and friends, I still had a great birthday, and felt much love from all the members here and for all that they did for me.
We also had some good success this week, 6 investigators came to church which was awesome. This week is probably my last full week here in Chupaca, because transfers are this next Wednesday. I'll be sad to leave such a good area. My companion and I get along really well so I'll be
Love you and miss you all!

Hola Amigos,
This past week we finished the 12 week training period of my companion and this week are the transfers. I think most likely I'll be leaving since I have a good amount of time here, but who knows! We found out tomorrow night so this week will be really interesting.
We had interviews with President Henderson this past week which also went really well. A lot of our investigators have been coming to church, and we've had success in finding new peope to teach this week.
I learn so much from the people here every day and I love all the members and people here in my area. I'm going to miss them all so much if I end up leaving this transfer.
Baptism for Mariaceleste |
I did get sick this week for the first time in a long time, but I got better really fast so I'm fine now! All is well, and this week will be crazy so I'll keep you all updated next week!

Well this week was super crazy for me with all the transfers, and my new area is JUNIN! It's crazy being here, because it's so close to my first area in Marcavalle, and now I'm in the same zone in Tarma that I started in.
I'm actually in Tarma right now for a zone conference. My new companion is Elder Boxberger from Arizona, my first gringo companion, and they called
me to be District Leader which is also a new experience. It will be good
having some more responsibility and I'm going to learn a bunch from this change.

Last week in Huancayo |
My District is also San Pedro de Cajas which is about 20 minutes from Junin. Honestly, a lot of people say that Junin is probably the worst area in the mission, but I already love it here. My companion baptized somebody last
week, which was the first baptism in Junin in 18 months. Crazy huh?

Saying goodbye to my old companion and friends |
I'm excited to be working in Junin with a good companion that likes to work hard. We want to change the area of Junin, and baptize more than ever
before. There's a lot of potential here, and the members work really hard.
The branch President is awesome.

The branch President is awesome.
We had 30 people come to church yesterday, so it's a small branch, but I'm really going to enjoy my time here. It's also one of the coldest areas in the mission, and I have to sleep in socks, sweats, a hoodie, beanie, scarf, and gloves with 6 blankets… hahaha! It really is freezing cold, and without heating in the room its always freezing.
Also there is about 100 guinea pigs that are our neighbors which is fun trying to catch them every morning.
Something I've learned is that the area doesn't make the missionary, but the missionary makes the area. I'm happy to be here, and excited to work in Junin!
