Update for March 16, 23, 30, and April 13, 20th

March 16th, 2015

Hola Amigos,
This was was pretty rough and stressful week, but in the end we had 3 baptisms this week and a wedding! I'm super excited for this Thursday it should be an awesome experience. This week should be a ton better than the last one, but it's always a little nerve racking the final days before the baptism. I'm just hoping that everything goes well and that nothing goes wrong. The family is super excited and ready to get baptized so there shouldn't be any problems. I don't have more time. I love and miss you all so much have a great week!

Hola!
This week was seriously AMAZING!!! We had a wedding and 3 baptisms! The Trujillo family all got baptized and it was a wonderful ceremony. Everything went smooth, and everybody had a great time!

The Wedding!

It was my first wedding in the mission, and it was a cool experience to see a Peruvian wedding, it's a lot of signing papers and that's pretty much it..

Since we are not allowed to dance Here is all you get!

After they got married they went directly to get baptized, and after their baptisms, we had a little reception for them at the church. It was nice having everything in the church it made it all go really smooth.

This family has been listening to the missionaries for a long time, and I feel super blessed to be part of their baptisms. We fought hard for this family, because they had a lot of problems with their documents, and we had to go to court houses and do so much paper work, but in the end it all worked out great.

The Trujillo Family

Instead of the calm before the storm, we had the storm before the calm, but it's so much better that way because I appreciate the blessings even more after having to work hard for it. Ive definitely had to learn and develop more patience, but it's been good for me. I know God always wants us to learn something from the hard times, and that way we can live happier lives in whatever circumstances we are in.

Another cool thing that happened this week was we had like an open house activity where people could come in the church and get to know the leaders, the church building and what we do in the church.  It turned out to be a huge success and we found tons of new investigators because of it.  So it was great!  Anyway, we had an amazing week.

Thank you for all your prayers. I know they work.  I love and miss you all tons. Have a great week!

March 30, 2015

Hola!
Well this week went by super fast because of the transfers, I'm back in Huancayo my area is Mariscal Castilla and the ward and area is huge! I'm a zone leader with Elder Fitzgerald from Arizona and he's awesome we're already great friends.

There's 20 missionaries in the zone so it's a big one. We had 230 people come to church yesterday, and we go to the stake center and the stake president and one of his counselors live in our ward so it's a big change for sure.

They have a good and organized ward which is really rare here in Peru, but it's definitely nice. I'm super happy that I got a great transfer.

Consejo de lĂderes

Our new pension is a little old lady that has one leg and she's a little crazy but super cool. Haha! It's been raining a little bit this week, but I love the weather here in Huancayo it's a little cold but to me it's perfect for walking around all day, it's nice. Other than the transfers nothing too excited to report this week, everything is going great for me here.

I love and miss you all tons have a good week!

April 13, 2015

This week was CRAZY!!! Seriously probably one of the busiest but best weeks I've had in my entire mission. Last week it was about 7:30 at night and all of our appointments had fallen through, it was raining, and just a horrible day. We usually eat dinner at 8 and honestly it was super tempting to just go to dinner a little early since we had such a rough day and couldn't find a single person to teach.

We decided to just try and finish the day strong, and visit one more family, and as we went to the house, some guy got off his motorcycle and started talking to us. He's a returned missionary, and we just happened to be standing right next door to his friend's house.

He called his friend to come out and we got an appointment with him last week. His name is Manuel and he's 21 studying physcology. He ended up coming to conference with us last week, and this week we taught him the restoration and I felt prompted strongly to explain that the biggest difference between the Book of Mormon and the Bible is how they were translated.

He said he felt something burning inside him strongly because that just happened to be the question in his head that he didn't even say to us and then he knew that The Book of Mormon is true. So he has a baptismal date in May, and the best part is that he came to church yesterday and brought his parents with him!

They loved coming to church and now they all want to listen to us and prepare to get baptized! It was definitely a little miracle that God gave us this week. Just from putting forth a little more effort we were greatly blessed. It was amazing.

The Elders from our Group

We also had 7 investigators come to church yesterday, and we're finding so many people that are just prepared to receive the gospel in their lives. It's great!

We had a few problems in our zone this week with disobedient missionaries and I felt a strong prompting that we needed to do a surprise visit and check up on a certain companionship. We went and did the room check and found them doing something that they shouldn't be doing, and it was just another testimony builder to me how the Spirit is so soft and subtle, but so powerful and can penetrate someone's heart so strongly. It reminds me of the scripture in 3 Nephi 11:3

And it came to pass that while they were thus conversing one with another, they heard voice as if it came out of heaven; and they cast their eyes round about, for they understood not the voice which they heard; and itwas not harsh voice, neither was it loud voice;nevertheless, and notwithstanding it being small voice itdid pierce them that did hear to the center, insomuch that there was no part of their frame that it did not cause to quake; yea, it did pierce them to the very soul, and did cause their hearts to burn.

I invite all of you to look for, and follow the little but powerful promptings of the spirit in your lives.  Just like President Monson said, there really is nothing sweeter than following the impressions of the Spirit and realizing it was an answer to a prayer.

I love and miss you all so much and hope yall have a great week!

P-day

Hola Amigos!

This week was a busy one! We did some divisions, and visited a ward council in our zone. We had some extra meetings with the stake president to try and help the stake get better. We've been staying busy trying to make the zone better and help the missionaries progress within our zone. We've been continuing to have some good success in our area. The familes we're teaching are really progressing, and working toward another wedding and a few baptisms for next month so things are really looking up in our area which is awesome! Everything is going well in my area, I'm really happy here in Huancayo my area is great. All is well, I hope yall have a good week this week!
