 HOLA COCHINAZOS!!!!

Well we had another great week and things are getting better every day in our area.  We knocked doors like crazy this week and found tons of new people to teach.  A few of them already accepted to get baptized.  I'm trying to be more aggressive Spiritually every day.  A lot of people complain about how some missionaries are overbearing or too bold, but we can never be too bold if people feel the love we have for them and realized that we are here to help.  I love just trying to go out and get things done especially since I'm training a newbie again. He's always so dead when we get home which reminds me how I was when I first started. Ha ha !

We had an awesome activity this week on Saturday.  It was like "one day in the mission" for all the youth that are preparing to put in their mission papers within the next couple years.  We studied with them in the morning, did practices, and gave classes just like in the CCM.  In the afternoon we had the zone come to Ambo for a zone attack.  Each of the youth went with a companionship to work for a couple of hours.  They really got the full experience of a day in the mission, and it was great!  As a result, we had a young man start his mission papers yesterday, which was great and made us so happy.

We've been able to have a really good relationship with the ward and the leaders which has made all the difference in working together and having the attendance go up.  Even though we haven't been baptizing, we're still having tons of success in our area.  Success isn't just measured by baptisms or by numbers.  Success is measured by our Spiritual growth, and helping others to grow Spiritually and come unto Christ.  Which includes "investigadores", members, less actives, recent convert, other missionaries, and myself.

I love and miss you all so much, but I wouldn't trade my mission for anything else int he world.
My testimony is my greatest treasure in this life.  What is your greatest treasure?

March 9th, 2015

We had an AMAZING week!  The family Trujillo that I've been mentioning for a while, that changed their baptismal date to the end of April, ended up changing their date again to next week!  I'm so excited and happy for them.  They'll be getting married and baptized the 18th of this month on a Wednesday.  Their daughter will be getting baptized with them, too!  I really think they are sincere about the 18th and we've already got it all plane doug.  They seem really excited!  I just really hope this wedding doesn't fall through like when I was in Junin..ha, ha!

How Sheep Travel in Ambo!

 Honestly that experience helped me learn a lot in helping this family be more sure of their decision.  I've tried to make sure that they all really have a true testimony of the church, and I feel like they do.  It's been a great experience seeing how everything happens for our good and experiences.  Even though it was rough when our wedding fell through in Junin, I've applied what I learned and now it seems like it's all paying off.

So it's really been a great week.  I feel super blessed, and my testimony of fasting and praying for specific names has gotten so much stronger with this experience.  Sometimes right when we get down on ourselves after doing all that we've can, God steps in and reminds me that He's always there and never leaves us alone.  Learning how to recognize God's presence more in my life has been a huge blessing.  I've learned that it's easier to do so, when we are "anxiously engaged in a good cause" (D&C 58:27).  Are we all "anxiously engaged in a good cause?" or are we just all going through the motions? Do we read the scriptures because we want to, or because we just know that we should?  Do we go to church because we want to, or so people know we go?  Do we pray to talk with God, or just to ask for the same things and repeat ourselves over and over again?  Some questions to thing about this week and make a self-evaluation and changes if necessary.

Elder Pincock's Update for Feb. 2nd, 9th, and 16th

February 2nd, 2015

This week went awesome, but super fast with the trip to Huancayo. I left Tuesday and came back on Thursday. We had the conference Wednesday, and got to play soccer Wednesday night which was a ton of fun! We had a good team and won a lot! haha

 I got to see some other missionaries that I haven't seen in a while which was nice getting to catch up with them. 

The conference went great, and it was great hearing President Henderson speak.

 The weather has been nice this week in Ambo, and has been raining a little less which is nice since I don't have am umbrella... We had another successful week and have a few investigators that are starting to progress which is awesome. 

We've also been having a lot of success with less actives that have been coming back to church and we're working the bishop the get them all callings as soon as possible. The training with my companion is going well, and he's starting to get the lessons down and adjust more and more to the life of a missionary.

Hola Amigos,

This week has been another good one here in Ambo.  We've been having more and more success with investigators which makes me so happy.  It's been a while since we've had people that progress and I've definitely been able to see how the Spirit has been guiding and directing us these past few weeks. 

The family that is progressing, the Trujillos, are doing great.  We've started helping them with their documents for their wedding.  The brother of our pension works in the "municipalidad" and is helping us out a ton with the whole wedding process which has been great.  

The best experience we had this week was being able to teach the dad of our pension's husband who hasn't listened to the missionaries for over 10 years.  I'm not really sure what changed, but we got his confidence and now he is reading The Book of Mormon.  He has received the two first lessons and has been accepting everything, which has been great.  

My companion went to Lima yesterday, so I'm with one of the young men as my companion until tomorrow afternoon.  Things are going great here in the mission field.  Transfers are this week, but I highly doubt I'm getting transferred until I finish training Elder Valencia.

Hola Amigos,

Another great week in Ambo! The family Trujillo has a date for their wedding and baptism March 7th.  We've been working better with the ward counsel in helping them prepare and make all the plans for their wedding and baptism, which has been working great because there's no way we could do all of it alone.

I had a good personal experience this week while reading in Alma 13:3-4. 

3 And this is the manner after which they were ordained—being called and prepared from the foundation of the world according to the foreknowledge of God, on account of their exceeding faith and good works; in the first place being left to choose good or evil; therefore they having chosen good, and exercising exceedingly great faith, are called with a holy calling, yea, with that holy calling which was prepared with, and according to, a preparatory redemption for such.

 4 And thus they have been called to this holy calling on account of their faith, while others would reject the Spirit of God on account of the hardness of their hearts andblindness of their minds, while, if it had not been for this they might have had as great privilege as their brethren.

 I could almost see a little bit of who we were in the premortal life, and it just encouraged me even more to try and serve the best mission I possibly can and be faithfull to all the promises I made in the pre-earth life.

 It was a really powerful scripture to me and gave me more courage to do the best I can here in the mission. It helped refortify my testimony of The Book of Mormon, and I know our testimonies need to always be growing and getting stronger every day of our lives. 

The Book of Mormon has really changed my life here in the mission, and I have no doubt that it's true. It's helped me grow and come closer to God, and become a better person.
